Shakespeare’s Diary

about his plays, life, and times

The Shakespeare Diaries

Posted by The Bard on 15 April 2007

Many thanks for all the compliments for the Diaries. I really hope everyone enjoys this fresh approach to Shakespeare’s life, work, and times. As people work through the daily entries I think they’ll find some innovative, unusual ideas about the plays and also connections between the plays–not to mention the various people mentioned–Christopher Marlowe, Ben Jonson, Queen Elizabeth, King James, all Shakespeare’s fellow actors–to mention just a few. There’s also much contemporary information, down to what the weather was like on a particular day. So this is not just another conventional Shakespeare biography. Someone, admittedly a good friend, told me the other day that she just can’t put the book down. Anyway, let me know what you think.
